The Brutalist Revival: Concrete Sanctuaries of Eastern Europe

For decades, raw concrete architecture was associated with institutional decay and cold war bureaucracy. Today, a new generation is discovering the poetic geometry of brutalist monuments across Belgrade, Sofia, and Zagreb.

Through high-contrast monochrome photography, we explore these monuments as civic experiments in public space and scale. These monolithic structures challenge our expectations of weight, texture, and light.
